Ramadan is the month when we are reminded by God that continuous giving is one of our most important duties while we are living on this earthly paradise. And, whenever we do this good thing, God knows it. (2:215)
Do not be like the one who looks away or crosses to the other side of the street. Do you remember these lyrics?
“She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"
He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there…”
This month, of Ramadan, helps us to build a charitable mind and a giving heart; a mind that is always thinking: ‘God wants me to give.’ Giving makes us feel good. It makes our hearts beat with satisfaction.
The next time you see someone who is living on the streets; the person with the sign that reads: “God Bless…” or the one sleeping on the bench; or the one standing in the street divide… GIVE… for that is a step towards God-Conscousness❣️🌹
