Kujichagulia / Koo–jee–cha–guu–lee–ah (Self-Determination): Speak for and define yourself. Do not let others speak for you. Create your own identity.
Ujima / OO–jee–mah (Collective Work and Responsibility): Strive to solve our problems together.
Ujamaa / OO–jah–maah (Cooperative Economics): Develop and create our own resources. Build and profit from our own community businesses.
Nia / Nee–ah (Purpose): Redevelop our cultural values to restore our communities to their traditional greatness.
Kuumba / Koo–oom–bah (Creativity): Always leave our communities more beautiful than we inherited them.
Imani / EE–mah–nee (Faith): Believe in our people and the righteousness of our struggle.
